Cub Scout Program Essentials
In Cub Scouts, Program Essentials are completed by coming to Cub Scout nights and taking part in the Cub Scout program. They form the core Scouting experience and help Cubs reflect on how they are developing.
Introduction to Scouting
Covers the essentials for members who are new to Scouting. The Unit can use the national video, a picture book for younger members, a short discussion, or interactive games.
Introduction to Section
A checklist of welcome activities completed in the first few weeks, including when moving up from the section below. It is part of the welcome, not a test.
Milestones
Recognises participation across the four Challenge Areas and age-appropriate leadership in the regular Cub Scout program.

Program Essentials are completed through attendance and active participation in the section program. The introductions welcome members into Scouting and their section, while Milestones recognise participation and age-appropriate leadership in the regular program.
