Rover Scouts

Service, adventure, fellowship.

Service, adventure, and fellowship. Rovers are self-governing young adults (18-25) who create their own adventures and give back to the community.

Thursday – 7.30pm to 9.30pm

What to Expect

Motorsports

Get down and dirty with Victoria’s Rovers for motorsports at Mudbash.

Social Events

Costumed chaos reigns at the annual Rover Ball and Surfmoot camp at Anglesea.

Outdoor Adventures

The Armstrong 500 hiking competition and our very own Rover Bogong Ski Chalet.

National Events

Converge with Rovers from all over Australia for the tri-annual National Moot.

Beyond the Horizon

"Rovers do stuff" is a popular sentiment because we do in fact do lots of stuff! As Rovers, we create our own adventure from start to finish, building skills widely recognised outside of Scouting.

Handfield Rover Unit is hosted at the Bundoora Scout Hall Rover Den and welcomes all young adults from 18 to 25 years. You don’t need any prior Scouting experience – just a 'give it a go' attitude!

The Achievement Pathway

Follow the path up the mountain! The Achievement Pathway is your personal progression through the program towards the Baden-Powell Scout Award.

Our Promise and Law

The Scout Promise

There are two versions of the Australian Scout Promise. Individuals may select which version they wish to make.

Version 1

On my honour, I promise
To do my best,
To be true to my spiritual beliefs,
To contribute to my community and our world,
To help other people,
And to live by the Scout Law.

Version 2

On my honour
I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to my God, and
To the King of Australia,
To help other people,
And to live by the Scout Law.
