Understanding Milestones
Milestones are the core of your journey through the Venturer Scout section. Each one combines active participation across all four Challenge Areas with age-appropriate leadership.
Milestone 1
6 participates from each Challenge Area and 2 leads from any Challenge Area.
Milestone 2
5 participates from each Challenge Area and 4 leads from any Challenge Area.
Milestone 3
4 participates from each Challenge Area and 6 leads from any Challenge Area.
How they are earned
Milestones are built into regular section nights, activities, camps, and adventures. A participate is attending an activity. A lead is helping to plan, run, or review an activity at a level that suits the section.
Challenge Areas
Progress should include a broad mix of activities across the program, including outdoor, creative, personal growth, and community-focused experiences.
What happened to assists?
Assists are no longer recorded separately. Work that previously counted as an assist can now count as a lead, and a Unit may award more than one lead for the same activity.
