A major Scout and Guide gathering at Gilwell Park
Around 1,800 Scouts, Guides and leaders prepared for Jamborella Two at Gilwell Park from 28 December 1980 to 6 January 1981. The program included flying, canoeing, cycling, motor cycling, skating, arts, crafts and raft building.
A profile on the same page follows Michael Downes from Assistant Scout Leader at 1st Bundoora in 1967 and Scout Leader in 1968 into later district, area, training and publication roles. His service brought him a Long Service Decoration and Medal of Merit.
