From 1st Bundoora to training, camps and program work across Victoria
James Tait joined 1st Bundoora as secretary in 1966. He became Assistant Scoutmaster in 1967 alongside Mike Downes and remained with 1st Bundoora until 1970.
He then joined 7th Oakleigh, serving across the Scout and Venturer sections before taking on Group leadership. He later joined a Headquarters task-force team with Mike Downes and helped design the WASP logo used on their publications.
Tait completed his Wood Badge at Gilwell, attended many camps and Jamborees, assessed at Stradbroke and Hoadley camps, and developed activities for Scouts and Cubs. The family account describes Scouting as his life for about thirteen years.
