Bundoora to Broken Hill, with the convoy officially on the road
The Uluru Adventure 2026 convoy left Bundoora Scout Hall on Sunday 28 June 2026. Three buses, support vehicles, leaders, Scouts, Venturer Scouts, and enough bags to make you question every packing list, rolled out together and pointed north.
The morning started early and foggy. That helped the mood, in a strange way. Everyone was a bit sleepy, everyone was trying to remember one last thing, and somehow the whole place still had that buzz you get before a proper Scout adventure.
Once the final checks were done, the first leg began: Bundoora Scout Hall to Broken Hill, with stops along the way to stretch legs, check the convoy, find snacks, and remind a few people that bus seats are not beds, no matter how hard they try.
By the time the group reached Broken Hill, the first big travel day was behind us. The red centre still sat a long way up the road, but it felt closer than it did at 6.00am.
